The Employee Development Specialist will support key locations to coach on best practices, drive process improvements and enhance organizational effectiveness. This role acts as a liaison between Training, Employee Experience, Human Resources, and Management, offering technical support and driving employee engagement initiatives.

            REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Mechanical aptitude fundamentals required
  2. 3 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred
  3. Experience interpreting survey data or performance metrics
  4. Proven ability in planning, organizing, prioritizing and using independent judgment to complete all assignments
  5. Highly self-directed; able to work independently, meet deadlines and implement objectives effectively
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  7. Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels across an organization
  8. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  9. Willingness to travel to branches or other locations as required; overnight travel required

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Travel to various locations to provide technical assistance and recommend process improvements to Service and Training teams
  2. Coach and mentor apprentices in the shop, providing guidance on best practices, equipment setup, safety, performance metrics, Caterpillar technology platforms and planning. Coach all employees on employee development resources.
  3. Collaborate with managers and supervisors to ensure resources and support are available for all technicians.
  4. Support succession planning by monitoring learning plan completion within the learning management system. Assist technicians to progress to Shop Technician, Shop Technician I and Field Technician roles. Measure success through apprentice progression rates, feedback metrics, retention rates, and completion of career development plans.
  5. Assist with the recognition platform and reporting to track and communicate engagement trends to management.
  6. Assist with Employee Opinion Survey and analyzing/communicating results
  7. Maintain a high degree of discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  8. Demonstrate initiative, integrity, and accountability in all assigned areas.
  9. Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
  10. Contribute to a positive work environment and promote the vision, mission and values of the Boyd companies
  11. Follow all work and safety rules, and procedures
  12. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
