DESCRIPTION:

Assist customers and employees in acquiring new skills or expertise on company products. Assure all customers and operators who purchase, rent or demo equipment are instructed in its safe and efficient operation. Oversee services to designated accounts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Good verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  3. Knowledge of equipment distributed by the organization
  4. Ability to climb on, operate, and inspect self-propelled heavy equipment
  5. Proficient skills and knowledge of: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  6. Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator license; able to obtain Class B CDL
  7. Position requires 40% travel and the ability to travel for several days concurrently
  8. Residence required in the Company’s geographic territory

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Achieve instructor certification in the Cat Certified Operator Training Program on primary machine product families
  2. Maintain the skill and knowledge required for the safe and efficient operation of all assigned products distributed by the organization
  3. Perform instruction and training for customer operators in the safe and efficient operation of Cat products for new, used & rental deliveries
  4. Assist sales representatives, product application specialist, etc in preparing and conducting product demonstrations and production studies on customers’ jobsites
  5. Support branch sales operations in organizing and implementing branch demo days, open houses, and other branch customer promotions
  6. Promote, schedule and instruct Level 1, 2, 3 certified operator training with customers
  7. Travel to branches or customer jobsites as required to present information and update skills to customer management, and operators
  8. Coordinate customer re-visits with sales representatives to ensure customer satisfaction
  9. Responsible for staying up-to-date on machine operation technologies from CAT to present to class participants; maintain files of information for use and reference
  10. Serve as a liaison between company personnel and CAT certified training contacts regarding operator training issues
  11. Perform other duties as necessary and/or assigned
