The Human Resources and Recruiting Specialist develops and initiates employee recruiting; provides assistance with employee procedures, rules, regulations and compliance; maintaining employee databases, and providing administrative, team and branch support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Degree, background, or experience in Human Resources or Business-related areas
  2. General knowledge/experience with recruiting and hiring
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  5. Able to communicate with team members and internal/external customers/vendors
  6. Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
  7. Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
  8. Travel to branches or other locations as required to perform assigned duties; some overnight travel required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Strategically and proactively recruit for technical and non-technical positions throughout territory, develop strategies and new options for sourcing, recruiting, and selecting candidates
  2. Utilize in-person and electronic resources for recruiting efforts
  3. Coordinate and conduct community awareness activities to enhance company’s brand identity and staffing needs which include career fairs, open houses, community events, military recruiting events, conferences, etc.
  4. Partner with marketing on electronic and social media recruiting efforts
  5. Proactively schedule time for regular communications and meeting with manager to update on openings, needs, recruiting events and efforts, etc.
  6. Work with managers on succession planning and intern/apprentice placement
  7. Increase technical career awareness through school visits, career fairs, recruitment expos, FFA/SkillsUSA school events, etc.
  8. Attend recruiting events for the ThinkBIG Program and other apprentice programs for the company; assist, coordinate and mentor employees within ThinkBIG and ThinkBigger training programs
  9. Maintain internal position postings and external posting through the external website
  10. Assist with applicant tracking system; screen, track, and coordinate applications and interviews as necessary
  11. Assist in overseeing pre-employment applicant testing
  12. Assist in administering post-offer, pre-employment requirements (drug screen, background checks, physicals, etc.)
  13. Provide assistance in personnel administration matters to support company executives and managers in carrying out employee relations responsibilities
  14. Complete post-hire governmental reporting requirements such as E-Verify, state employment reporting, etc.
  15. Compile, maintain, and update highly accurate and confidential employee personnel records
  16. Coordinate, execute, and audit all entry of employee information through Personnel Data System and any in house data base system
  17. Administer the completion of all forms and paperwork required for new/current employee personnel files according to company standards and procedures
  18. Create and compile reports as requested by management
  19. Answer routine inquiries from inside/outside company for factual information on subjects such as, employment verification, and position openings
  20. Train and serve as back up to other positions within the department - Maintain an understanding of the duties of other positions in department to the degree that basic job duties will be fulfilled if an incumbent is absent
  21. Recommend to manager ideas to improve the departments operating procedures or business practices and participate in and support continuous improvement of all related activities and processes
  22. Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code
  23. Create and maintain good communications (verbally and in writing) and relationships with other Company departments, branches, employees, outside vendors, and customers by addressing and resolving concerns quickly
  24. Follow all work, safety rules, and procedures
  25. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
