The Wear Parts Aftermarket Specialist is responsible for taking wear measurements from undercarriage components, G.E.T., and buckets, and relaying the information to the Product Support Representative responsible for each customer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  4. Able to communicate with team members and customers
  5. Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, word processing programs
  6. Highly self-directed
  7. Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands
  8. Travel to branches or other locations as required to perform assigned duties
  9. Maintain a valid motor vehicle operators' license
  10. Maintain a high degree of discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information and exercise initiative in all assigned areas, high integrity and accountability standards
  11. Assist work team to meet the objectives of the department and the Company

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manages the inspection schedule while communicating closely with Product Support Representatives (PSR), customers and management
  2. Operate and maintain a company vehicle as required
  3. Complete monthly expense reports, maintain mileage log and submit mileage reports
  4. Initiate plan to do CTS on large customer fleets that are called upon by Product Support Representatives. This will include spending nights on the road, coordinating with the PSR when machines will be available
  5. Execute in various site conditions under different environmental conditions while conducting CTS on machines. It will include physically measuring a machine by climbing on and crawling under it
  6. Measure all machines using the Caterpillar CTS ultrasonic machine. Information will then be downloaded to a laptop using CTS software and reports printed or e-mail as necessary
  7. Using CTS software as a tool, schedule returns CTS inspections as necessary
  8. Maintain CTS history on all machines with information provided by the PSR when a new undercarriage is installed, or service work is performed on the undercarriage
  9. Develop and implement program to manage all CTS using the current Caterpillar CTS software. This will require the use of a laptop computer
  10. Perform as a liaison between the customer and the PSR when needed to maintain product performance
  11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary and assigned
