DESCRIPTION:

Controls and directs all activities of the Parts Department by effectively warehousing parts inventory while producing a high quality of parts distribution to branch customers and other departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Knowledge of operational procedures of parts warehouse and office
  3. General knowledge of service department and branch operations
  4. Ability and willingness to function outside normal working hours
  5. Demonstrate ability to apply tact and diplomacy in dealing with customers and fellow employees

ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervise and direct all warehousing activities to assure the best possible parts availability to our customers and to ensure a balanced employee effort and completion of work on all Parts Department shifts
  2. Supervise and monitor distribution and routing of parts/components and emergency orders for branch customers shipped on the Night Truck; monitor and resolve problems that affect over-the-road deliveries (e.g., truck breakdowns, adverse weather conditions, scheduled maintenance)
  3. Supervise all Parts Shipping and receiving personnel to assure profit and productivity while maintaining a safe and efficient environment; recommend implementation of changes that will provide a more cost-efficient operation while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures
  4. Consult with other department supervisors (Credit, Service, Sales) to keep abreast of all details which may impact on the Shipping and Receiving work area and coordinate S/R activities to be compatible with interdepartmental efforts or needs
  5. Expedite all customer requests or complaints in a prompt and courteous manner
  6. Evaluate employee work performance and counsel or train employees to ensure safe working environment
  7. Assure constant high-level performance standards are met through communication with parts management team
  8. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned
